Summer Riding Camps 2023 

Only 3 days of horse fun. If you don't have time for a full week then this camp will be perfect for you. Students will have both on the ground horse time and in the saddle learning both new and fun things you can do with horse.

Gymkhana Camp

July 24th - July 28st

(10 am – 12 pm)

Our horse camps are designed to challenge kids from leadline to canter.  We encourage horsemanship from the ground to riding.  During this four day camp students will develop their riding skills while learning some of the fun Gymkhana events likes Barrels, Poles, Stakes and Keyhole.

Rodeo Horse Camp 

July 31th - August 5th

  morning camp (10 am - 12 pm)
 afternoon camp (1 am - 3pm

The highlight of the summer is our All Kids Rodeo.  Students will work on their horse handling and riding skills with the focus being on barrels.  On Saturday all the Campers will show off everything they have learned when they do barrels in the rodeo.

Short but Sweet Horse Camp

July 24th - 26th
July 27th - 29th

(1 pm – 3 pm)

$250

Only three days of horse fun.  If you don't have time for a full week this is a perfect fit!  Students will halter, lead and groom their horse as well as work on their riding skills during their riding lesson each day.

Camps must have a minimum of 3 participants to run.

Otherwise they be cancelled or combined if not enough registrants. 

 

"Want to learn how to ride?"

Then this is the camp is for you!  We will start at your level, in a small groups.

"How old do I need to be?"

The minimum age for camp is 6 years and up.

"Do I need special clothes or boots?"

Yes, you will require boots with a heel, long pants (any kind) are recommended and weather appropriate gear. Helmets can be brought or, you may borrow one from the camp.

For the WILDHORSE ADVENTURE Kids will need to bring a sleeping mat, sleeping bag, clothes, weather appropriate clothes (IE: rain gear, coats) flashlight and a water bottle, but meals and snacks will be provided.

"What is your riding skill?"

This is for all levels. Advanced kids will be challenged and beginners will be welcomed and gain confidence.

"How much time will we spend with horses?"

The entire lesson is geared towards time with your selected horse, grooming, walking, riding and learning.

"What's the best part of this camp?"

The best part of the camp is the horse experience which is transforming for all kids.

"How big is the camp?"

A maximum of 6 kids will participate, with individual instruction and attention from an Equine Canada certified Instructor.  

"How might Covid affect camps?"

Last year we were able to run all camps with AHS approval.  We had a Covid social distant rodeo where only participants families came and sat in designated sections.  This year we will also do our best to provide a fun a safe camp following current guidelines.
